Roast and Veggies

Here is another Roast using the same recipe as the previous one, just different spices. I used Spring Onion Seasoning and made more juice in the roast with oxo cubes, then when the roast was done i thickened the juice and made a sauce with some for mashed potatoes and took the meat out and left the veggies to brown gently on the top. The meat was very tender. This piece of meat is called a Rump Roast for those of you who want to know what to ask for in the supermarket.

All Done!

Here's a delicious recipe I found for Bisque. Naturally, as I'm a Muslim, Ive left out the wine, but its no less delicious!
You can also just click on the title and youll transported there in no time!
Bisque is a thick, creamy, highly-seasoned soup of French origin, classically of pureed crustaceans. It can be made from lobster, crab, shrimp or crayfish. Also, creamy soups made from vegetables instead of seafood are sometimes called bisques.
If you would like, you can puree the ingredients before adding in the shrimp in the end, i like to leave the shrimp whole so i can savor them!

Oh, Baby!

Here is a recipe for a baby meal for 6 months+ Babies.

you will need:
Any kind of cereal or oatmeal base for Babies 6m+
1 jar of babyfood (fruit, veg, etc ) for 6m+
60 ml of your babies milk already mixed

now:
take the 60 ml of liquid milk and add enough baby cereal to thicken to spoon hugging texture, next add half a small jar of any babyfood your baby likes, mix well, and serve!

Here is a delicious recipe for Madhrooba from "Emiratican Kitchen". I tried her recipe for this yesterday and it was delicious! Its very different from the way i make it normally and the ingredients are also a bit different, but no less tasty, and probably much healthier than mine because she uses Wheat seeds and mine uses rice.....This dish makes for a great Iftar treat!

Grilled Shrimp...Tuna and Egg Scramble

For the Grilled Shrimp:
Set up a BBQ for grilling the shrimp. DONT peel the shrimp, only slit them into halves at the back on the vein side. Rub any spices you like into them and toss to coat in a big bowl. Place shrimp on the grill with the slit sides down and cook then do the same for the other side to give them a grilled look. When done, place all of the shrimp in a big platter and slice lemons to squeeze over them OR serve with an assortment of sauces like sweet and sour chilli sauce, etc.
Tuna and Egg Scramble
Melt a small amount of butter in a skillet, when hot, add diced tomato and cook till soft, add tuna and 1 tsp cumin powder and cook till little browned then add to this 3 eggs and scramble till done. Add salt and serve with pita bread or on sliced bread. Enjoy!

Roast Chicken Sultana Style!

VERY SIMPLE!

Cut up all the kinds of veggies you want to roast. I used garlic heads, bell peppers, onions, tomato, potato, carrot, and zucchini.

Sprinkle over this any spices you like the tastes of. I used garlic salt and ras el hanout spices with salt and pepper.

Stuff the chicken with sliced onions and a garlic bulb and a half a lemon which you used for putting over the chicken.

Rub spices over the chicken and the juice of half of that lemon you used to stuff the chicken. Put it all in a pan like above and drizzle over this olive oil.

Roast in a moderatley hot oven for one hour and for crispier chicken put it closer to the heat source in the last 5-10 minutes. Then serve!

There are many different ways to make it!

Labneh with Zaatar and Banana Pepper Snack

Labneh with Zaatar

Banana Peppers fried with Egyptian Farm Cheese

Raggag Bread-thin and crispy

Strained yoghurt or labneh is popular in the Levant. Besides being used fresh, labneh is also dried then formed into balls, sometimes covered with herbs or spices, and stored in olive oil. Labneh is a popular mezze dish and sandwhich ingredient. The flavour depends largely on the sort of milk used: labneh from cows milk has a rather milder flavour.
The Banana peppers were fried in a bit of olive oil and when soft white farm cheese was added to it over low heat and taken off fire when melted a bit. This recipe was inspired by:http://almostturkish.blogspot.com/
Raggag bread was used for soup and the recipe can be found in my recipe collection.
Enjoy!

Quick Chickpea Salad

This is a quick and nutritious salad you can make on a busy lunch break...I make this salad and different variations of it regularly for my family. You can add anything you like to it to "jazz" it up...
The basic mix is:
tomato
cucumber
danish white cheese or feta
canned chickpeas
dried mint
garlicky vinegar salad dressing
I must add that I am soon to be on a "seriously strenuous" gym routine to lose a bit of weight, so you will be seeing alot more salads here soon!
